Kagome Higurashi is your average 15-year-old living in Japan (or so we/she thought). One day, her cat, Buyo was lost. Sota (Kagome's young borther) went searching for Buyo. According to Sota, Buyo was in the well that was in the "Higurashi Shrine" which was the shrine that Kagome's grandfather kept. Sota was too scared to go look through the well because he thought it was "creepy" so Kagome decided to have a look. When she went though, something pulled her towards the well!

This was, indeed a demon. Obivously, this had frightened Kagome a lot (well all the sudden she was pulled into a well by a monster-thing, how would you feel?) She tried to push the demon away, and instead of just pushing, it looked as though she blasted her away. Finally the well-ness was over and she was at the bottom of the well. She pulled herself up, expecting to see the face of her brother, but instead she was outside in the middle of nowhere. Confused, she tried to seek the answer to why she was in this place. Before she knew it, people dressed in old-fashioned clothing stopped her and accused her with being a "witch" they had brought her to the village to deal with her.
